The Ukrainian president’s New Year’s address sounded harsh in its condemnation of those who are not fighting at the front and are not officially employed. On the evening of December 31, Garant made a historic speech in which he warned that the war would not end quickly.
Victory is not given, it is won
This was the thesis of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s New Year’s address. For the second year in a row, Ukrainians have been celebrating the holiday to the sound of explosions, and in some regions, there is no opportunity to celebrate. The President emphasized that he understands this situation, so he thanked everyone who is now at the front or donating to the Armed Forces. “And I want to thank all our people, I want to thank our nation. To everyone who is here today. To everyone I want to say: I am proud of each of you. Every citizen of Ukraine. Every strong person.”
Working and donating is not a feat but a duty.
In his evening speech, Garant sent a social message to Ukrainians who were wondering what would happen to the national economy if everyone went to the front. After all, the issue of mobilization has recently become extremely acute. Some parts of society express dissatisfaction with this issue. Obviously, the Presidential Administration understood this because Zelensky said that a citizen of Ukraine should “either fight or work.” There is hope that not everyone will be caught in the chaotic millstones of mobilization and that the MCC will still consider the categories of men who are forced to take up arms.
